Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has decreed the creation of a $100 million poultry cluster, allocating 400 hectares across six regions for farms, hatcheries, and feed production. The funding will come from international financial institutions ($40 million), the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan ($35 million), and an unnamed project initiator ($25 million). This initiative aims to boost poultry meat production by 20% to enhance food security, with the population expected to reach 40 million by 2030. The project aligns with the Food Security Strategy through 2030 and foresees a $420 million investment in poultry farms by the decade's end. Uzbekistan will collaborate with an American company for advanced genetic technologies to tackle poultry genetics challenges.
