The Ministry of Economic Development in Uzbekistan has drafted a decree to increase the export activity of oilseed processing enterprises by lifting some restrictions on vegetable oil exports. Oil refineries will be permitted to export oil pressed from imported sunflower and cotton seeds, but the volume of exported oil cannot exceed 15% of the imported seeds since September 1. Discussions on the draft decree will continue until December 1, and if approved, it is expected to improve the business environment for the oilseed processing industry.
