The 2024/25 citrus campaign in the Valencian Community is expected to see a decrease in supply, both domestically and from third countries, due to drought and pest issues, as reported by the Valencian Association of Farmers (AVA-ASAJA). This has led to the Valencia Citrus Market maintaining similar prices to the previous year, adjusted for the anticipated decrease in production and high production costs. AVA-ASAJA is encouraging purchases to ensure a sufficient supply for European markets. The first contracts for the season have set prices in line with the previous year for extra-early varieties, while prices for later varieties have slightly increased. AVA-ASAJA also advises growers to consider production costs and reference prices before selling their harvest.
