Prices of various vegetables at the Mega Q Mart in Quezon City have increased, with "Gulay Tagalog" prices rising by P10 to P80 per kilo. Sitaw, eggplant, ampalaya, okra, and garlic have also seen price hikes, while siling labuyo now costs P280 per kilo. On the other hand, carrots have dropped in price to P100 per kilo. The Department of Trade and Industry has projected an increase in the price of basic commodities such as rice, canned sardines, instant noodles, and milk, with pending petitions for price increases from manufacturers of other products like canned meat, coffee, bottled water, salt, and condiments.
