High vegetable prices in Morocco's Darb Ghalef market are being caused by drought and speculators, according to vegetable sellers. The drought has led to poor agricultural production, while speculators, also known as 'creditors', buy vegetables from farmers at low prices and sell them at doubled prices, increasing consumer burdens. Prices of vegetables like green squash, eggplant, peppers, julbanah peas, and beans have significantly risen, with small potatoes reaching 8 dirhams, a price that was previously two or three dirhams.
