The Department of Commerce (DOC) has concluded its administrative review for August 1, 2022, to July 31, 2023, on frozen pangasius fillets from Vietnam, finding no evidence of below-normal values. As a result, eight Vietnamese pangasius exporting companies will not face any anti-dumping duties and will be assigned separate tax rates. The final results are due to be announced 120 days after the preliminary findings. Meanwhile, Vietnamese pangasius exports to the U.S., the largest market, surged by 40% in August 2024, reaching over US$35 million, and earned Vietnam US$226 million in the first eight months of the year, marking a 23% increase from the same period last year. This has contributed to a notable 9% increase in Vietnam's total pangasius export value, totaling nearly US$1.3 billion.
