Vietnam's seafood exports have seen a notable increase in the first eight months of the year, with a value of nearly US$6.3 billion, a nearly nine percent rise from the same period in the previous year, as per the Việt Nam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP). The growth is spread across various seafood products, with shrimp, pangasius, tuna, and other marine fish exports experiencing significant increases. However, challenges such as the IUU yellow card, anti-subsidy tax, and anti-dumping tax could potentially limit this growth. The total seafood export revenue for the year is projected to reach between $9.4-9.5 billion, marking a six percent increase from 2023.
