Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Sciences helps people restore precious grapefruit growing areas

Dai Minh grapefruit products in Yen Binh district (Yen Bai province) have long been known as "royal grapefruit" because of their delicious taste and rich nutrition. Each year, grapefruit gardens bring in tens of billions of VND in income for local people. The whole commune currently has more than 425 hectares of grapefruit, many grapefruit areas are 60 - 70 years old, some trees are up to 200 years old. Due to the impact of storm No. 3, prolonged heavy rains and the release of floodwaters from the hydroelectric reservoir, flooding has occurred on a large scale in many communes of Yen Binh district, many grapefruit gardens in Kha Linh, Minh Than, Cau Mo villages (Dai Minh commune) have been damaged. Currently, many flooded grapefruit areas are losing leaves, fruits and dying en masse, many households have lost everything.
