According to preliminary statistics from the Customs Department, cashew imports to Vietnam in April reached over 480,000 tons, valued at over $732 million, a strong increase of 61.3% in volume and 45.1% in value compared to March. Cumulatively in the first 4 months of the year, the country spent over $1.6 billion on cashew imports, equivalent to over 1.04 million tons, increasing 10% in volume but a significant 39.8% in value compared to the same period in 2024. In terms of markets, Cambodia is the largest cashew supplier to Vietnam with over 757,000 tons, valued at over $1.15 billion, increasing 7.5% in volume and a strong 28% in value. The average import price reached $1,518 per ton, a 20% increase compared to the same period last year. The second-largest cashew supplier to Vietnam is Tanzania, with over 132,000 tons, valued at over $240 million, a 97% increase in volume and a significant 184% increase in value compared to the same period last year.
