Vietnamese enterprises have achieved significant success in the first 10 months of 2024 by exporting 613,500 tons of processed cashew nuts, valued at 3.6 billion USD, marking an 18.7% increase in volume and a 22.1% increase in value compared to the same period in 2023. This performance not only consolidates Vietnam's position as the world's leading exporter of processed cashew nuts for nearly two decades but also enhances the industry's global reputation. The average export price per ton of cashew nuts rose by 2.9% to 5,867 USD, with all 15 major markets showing an increase in import value, led by the United Arab Emirates. Despite these achievements, the industry faces challenges, including the need to increase the proactivity of cashew processing enterprises in sourcing raw materials and addressing issues of trade deficits and quality concerns that arose in previous years due to overimport of raw cashew nuts. The resolution of these challenges is crucial for the sustainability and growth of the Vietnamese cashew industry.
