In the first quarter of 2024, Vietnam's rice exports to Singapore have surged by 80.46%, reaching a turnover of 36.15 million SGD, primarily due to significant increases in the exports of sticky rice, milled or peeled fragrant rice, and broken rice. This growth has positioned Vietnam as the leading rice exporter to Singapore, overtaking traditional leaders like India and Thailand. The country now commands a substantial market share, particularly in sticky rice and milled or peeled fragrant rice, which dominate the Singapore market with 80.08% and 73.33% shares respectively. This achievement is attributed to Vietnam's competitive edge over its main rivals, Thailand, India, and Japan, in these specific rice categories.
