In the first half of 2024, tea exports from Vietnam experienced a significant surge, with volume reaching 62,000 tons and value reaching US$106 million, marking increases of 28.3% and 30% respectively compared to the same period in 2023. The average export price per ton of tea also saw a slight rise of 1.3%. The Q2 of 2024 witnessed a notable 32.7% and 34.8% increase in export volume and value respectively compared to Q2 of 2023. Green tea was the dominant export, contributing 61.6% to the total, primarily to Asia, with a significant increase in both volume and value. Black tea exports also saw an upward trend, primarily to Asia, with a peak in Q2 of 2024. This performance indicates a strong recovery in the demand for imported tea in major global markets, offering a promising outlook for the future of Vietnam's tea industry.
