Vietnamese rice dominates Singapore's market, holding the largest shares in white rice (48.62%), milled or peeled fragrant rice (69.43%), and glutinous rice (78.05%). Thailand and India are the next largest exporters, with export values of S$70.73 million and S$58.41 million, respectively. Combined, these top three exporters make up 90.21% of Singapore's rice market. Since 2023, rice import demand in Singapore has surged due to India's export ban and a tourism rebound, leading to a 13.62% year-on-year increase in import value, reaching nearly S$224.5 million in the first half of 2024.
