In February 2024, Vietnam experienced a significant surge in cashew imports, reaching nearly 133.6 thousand tons, a 44.3% increase in volume and a 2% rise in turnover from the previous month, totaling 172.2 million USD. Despite this monthly growth, the first two months of 2024 witnessed a decline in cashew imports compared to the same period in the previous year, with a 17.5% drop in volume and a 23.5% decrease in value. Indonesia was noted for its substantial growth in cashew exports to Vietnam. Concurrently, Vietnam's cashew exports saw a remarkable increase of 48.9% in volume and 39.2% in turnover during the first two months of 2024, solidifying its status as the world's leading cashew exporter for the 16th consecutive year, following a record output in 2023.
