Vietnam's first quarter import-export data shows a mixed trend for meat and meat products. Exports experienced a decline, with a decrease of 8.3% in volume and 7.5% in value compared to the previous year, mainly to Asian markets. On the other hand, imports surged, with a 34% increase in volume and a 29.4% increase in value, largely from India. Despite this, pork imports have seen a decrease due to reduced domestic consumption. However, pig farming in Vietnam has shown improvement, with prices on the rise, indicating a positive outlook for the country's domestic pork production in the first quarter, estimated to reach 1.29 million tons, marking a 4.6% increase compared to the same period in the previous year.
