The Vietnam Association of Aquatic Products Exporters and Producers (VASEP) has reported a significant growth in Vietnam's canned tuna exports, with a total export value of nearly 74 million US dollars in 2024. Europe, particularly Germany, was the largest buyer, accounting for 70% of the total export value. However, exports to the Netherlands and Italy saw a decline. Poland experienced the most rapid growth in imports, with a 48% increase. The Vietnamese canned tuna industry is advocating for the government to expedite the decree to revise fishery regulations to boost exports to the EU market.
