Vietnam's dragon fruit exports in the first four months of the year brought in 230 million USD, marking a 7.5% decrease from the same period in 2023. The exports to China, Hong Kong, and Japan saw a decrease, while to the US, UK, Germany, France, Australia, and India, they surged. The proportion of dragon fruit in the export fruit basket experienced a 40% decrease, but the reduced supply due to climate change effects and increased purchasing by new markets helped keep prices high. The province of Binh Thuan, Vietnam, which has 26,500 hectares of dragon fruit, experienced hot and strong wind weather, resulting in a high fruit harvest yield but a sharp decrease in people's longevity.
