The Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency of South Korea has approved the export of fresh Vietnamese pomelo, making it the third fresh fruit from Vietnam to be permitted for import into South Korea, following dragon fruit and mango. After a comprehensive consultation process and despite the COVID-19 pandemic's challenges, the import regulations for Vietnamese pomelo were published on the APQA's website on 30 July 2024. This achievement is expected to boost the presence of Vietnamese agricultural products in international markets and is part of Vietnam's efforts to affirm the quality and global reputation of its agricultural products. The first half of 2024 saw a significant increase in vegetable and fruit exports, with South Korea being the second-largest export market for these products.
