Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports have seen a significant increase of 28.1% in the first five months of the year, reaching a value of 2.59 billion USD. The country's main exports include durian, dragon fruit, jackfruit, and banana, with the trend expected to continue due to domestic abundance and increasing demand. However, the production of lychee is expected to decrease by half in 2024 due to unfavorable weather conditions. Despite this setback, proactive measures are being taken by Vietnam to expand its agricultural market, both in traditional and emerging markets, and to remove technical and trade barriers for its agricultural products. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) is also working on a protocol for the export of frozen durian and fresh coconut to China.
