The Vietnamese Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has successfully secured the approval for the export of passion fruit to the United States, following extensive negotiations with the US Department of Agriculture. These talks aim to streamline quarantine methods to lower costs and enhance the competitiveness of Vietnamese fruits in the US market. Vietnamese fruit exporters are required to adhere to strict US standards on food safety and plant quarantine. Discussions also encompassed the process of exporting other fruits like seedless lemons, jackfruits, and guavas to the US. So far this year, Vietnam has seen a 32.4% increase in fruit exports to the US, reaching a value of approximately US$150 million, with dragon fruit, mango, and other fruits already approved for export.
