Vietnamese seafood export companies are increasingly focusing on the Chinese market, which has become one of their top three export markets, after the United States and Japan. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, seafood exports to China dropped in 2021 but are expected to recover to $1.6 billion in 2022, representing a 66% increase. Despite some categories experiencing declines, there are positive signs for exports of black tiger shrimp, sea shrimp, long tail fish, yellow snapper, and mackerel.
