The Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers (VASEP) has reported a significant growth of 87% in Vietnam's tuna exports to Chile in 2023, with processed and canned tuna exports increasing by 192%. Factors contributing to this growth include Chile's low inflation rate, less stringent quality demands compared to other markets such as the US, Japan, and EU countries, and the Free Trade Agreement between Chile and Vietnam, which provides a competitive advantage to Vietnamese tuna businesses.
