Vietnam's fruit and vegetable exports have experienced a remarkable growth in the first quarter of 2024, surpassing 1 billion US dollars in export value, a 27% increase from the previous year. This surge is largely due to the country's strong export performance in major markets such as China, the United States, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand. Notably, exports to China, which make up 61.5% of the total export value, have been boosted by the inclusion of more Vietnamese fruits like avocados. Additionally, the demand for durians, particularly from Thailand's tourism sector, has significantly contributed to this growth. Despite facing challenges in exporting to Europe and the United States due to the Red Sea incident, the fruit and vegetable export industry in Vietnam is on a positive trajectory, with projections estimating the export value to reach between 6.2 and 6.5 billion US dollars for the year 2024.
