Vietnam's pangasius exports in October reached a two-year high, with a significant increase in both export value and volume. The total export volume in October was 90,207 tons, a year-on-year increase of 17% and a month-on-month increase of 25%, generating approximately US$202 million in sales. All major export destinations experienced growth, with the market performing well in Mainland China and Hong Kong, the US, ASEAN, the EU, Brazil, and the UK. The supply of pangasius in Vietnam has tightened due to depleted raw material stocks and the rainy season, leading to a rise in prices. The trend is expected to continue, with exports likely to remain high in November but possibly decline in December. VASEP predicts that Vietnam’s pangasius exports may exceed US$2 billion by the end of 2024.
