Vietnam’s pangasius exports in 2024 could exceed $2 billion

Vietnamese pangasius exports are on a rise, with China and Hong Kong being the largest markets despite a slight decline in the first ten months of 2024. The United States has also emerged as a surging market, with exports to the U.S. increasing by 65% in October 2024, totaling over $35 million. The preliminary results of the 20th Administrative Review bring good news for Vietnamese pangasius exporters, with favorable anti-dumping duty rates. The Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) is the third-largest market for Vietnamese pangasius exports. The EU market remains stable, with some countries seeing double-digit growth in imports. It is expected that Vietnam's pangasius exports will surpass $2 billion in 2024, driven by holiday orders and a need to beat potential tax increases.
