Vietnam has seen a significant increase in its exports of frozen fish fillets coded HS0304 to the UAE, with a 81% rise in March compared to the previous month. The country has also started exporting pangasius to the UAE in March this year, with exports valued at US$79,000 and US$75,000 for frozen and processed pangasius respectively. The UAE is a net buyer of seafood, importing 90% of the food consumed in its market. According to the FAO, the UAE consumes over 220,000 tons of seafood annually, with a per capita consumption of 28.6 kilograms, which is above the global average.
