China has emerged as the top importer of a variety of Vietnamese seafood products, including barracuda, white-leg shrimp, lobster, anchovy, and crab, with Vietnam's shrimp exports to China surpassing those to Ecuador, India, and Indonesia. In the first quarter, Vietnam experienced a significant surge in seafood exports to China, notably with lobster exports increasing sevenfold compared to the same period last year. This contributed to Vietnam's seafood exports reaching nearly US$1.9 billion in the first quarter, a nearly 2% increase from the previous year. Vietnam is targeting a seafood export revenue of between US$9.5-10 billion for the current year.
