The article presents an overview of Bulgaria's fruit production in 2020, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture. The data was collected from November 4, 2020, to January 15, 2021. The total area under fruit and berry cultivation was 64.9 thousand hectares, with 84.7% being harvested. The production volume was 202,579 tons, which marked a 13.6% decrease from the previous year. Despite the overall decline, the average yields of cherries, raspberries, and apples increased. The majority of the produced fruits were distributed for trade (39.5%), with some also going to the processing industry (34.9%), for personal consumption (1.8%), and for direct retail sales (23.8%). Nearly four in ten fruit-bearing and non-fruiting plantations were irrigated, primarily through drip and gravity methods.
