Walnuts: Global supply shrinks, new season outlook remains bullish!

The new domestic walnut season has shown a "scattered start, delayed bulk supply" pattern. Yunnan began listing in September, but initially relied mainly on farmers selling directly, without forming bulk supply; until mid-October, the main production areas had not yet started concentrated bulk supply, and the market supply gap persisted. Although the Xinjiang production areas welcomed a harvest, the increase was limited. Kashgar city's walnut planting area in 2025 is 26,000 acres, with an average yield of 273.91 kilograms per acre, and an estimated total production of 7,082.4 tons; Yecheng county's Ili Qixi township has 45,000 acres of walnuts expected to yield 10,000 tons, with a moderate increase compared to previous years, and Kuqa city's Bositan walnut professional cooperative had already purchased over 5,300 tons by early November, but still had over 1,500 tons of orders pending delivery, showing tight supply in the production areas.
