The European Union has updated its Regulation on the Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) of the fungicide Prochloraz in various agricultural products, effective from September 4, 2020. The regulation sets the MRLs for Prochloraz at 0.03 mg/kg for certain fruits and vegetables, 7 mg/kg for other fruits, and 0.2 mg/kg for cereals like rye and wheat. The MRLs for spices, bark, licorice root, ginger, turmeric, honey, and bee products are set at 0.15 mg/kg. Thailand, a significant exporter of these products to the EU, saw a decrease in its export value to the EU in the first two months of 2020, compared to the same period in the previous year.
