Watermelon/Cepea: After rising last week, prices fell again in Brazil

The price of watermelon fell in Teixeira de Freitas (BA) this week (11 to 15/03), after last week's increase. The situation at the end of the harvest in the square was not favored by the weather this week: due to the high rainfall, the rest of the fruits being harvested lost quality, directly impacting the market value. In RS, the end of the harvest is being characterized by high temperatures, in addition to some occasional rains in some locations. Watermelons have also lost their quality, but the volume of fruit sold is already low. On the other hand, the states of São Paulo and Uruana (GO) increasingly increase the quantity of watermelons harvested.
