The Fisheries Committee of Kazakhstan, part of the Ministry of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources, is working towards the development of the fish industry. The committee oversees the protection, reproduction, and use of fish resources and coordinates activities related to fish farming and fishing. The Government's Fisheries Development Program aims to increase fish farming, domestic consumption, and exports of fish products significantly by 2030. Legislation is being improved to facilitate fish farming, and financial support is provided to fish farmers. The committee is also looking into allowing fish farms to operate in the water protection zone and in specially protected natural areas.
