Kazakhstan increases wheat exports to Afghanistan

Compared with the same period last year, Kazakhstan’s wheat exports to Afghanistan rose by nearly 37%. Strong growth was also recorded in other directions: shipments to Uzbekistan increased by 35%, from 1.315 million tonnes to 1.774 million tonnes, while exports to Kyrgyzstan more than doubled. Kazakhstan’s Minister of Agriculture, Aidarbek Saparov, said the country’s total wheat export capacity is estimated at 13 million tonnes.
