Bulgaria, Europe's largest producer of black truffles, has seen shifts in truffle areas and a decrease in types of truffles harvested due to unfavorable climate conditions. Despite this, the country can yield up to 440 tons of truffles in a good year, with most of the produce being exported to Italy, France, Spain, and the USA. Prices range from BGN 1,000 to BGN 10,000 per kilogram. The National Federation of Truffle Hunters in Bulgaria is advocating for changes in the Forestry Act to regulate truffle mining.
