The Ministry of Environment in South Korea has excluded rice husks and rice bran from the Waste Management Act, recognizing them as recycling resources. This decision is welcomed by a livestock organization as it simplifies the recycling resource accreditation process and exempts process and facility inspections, reducing paperwork and on-site visual inspections. These agricultural by-products are commonly used as barn litter, feed, and compost, posing no environmental pollution risk. The exclusion is expected to smooth the supply and simplify administrative procedures for farmers.
