The article provides an overview of Iran's olive production and trade activities, as discussed by Javad Mir Arab Razi, the ministry's executive in charge of the olive project. The provinces leading in olive cultivation include Zanjan, Gilan, Qazvin, Fars, and Golestan, covering around 78,000 hectares, with 58,000 hectares being fertile. Despite this extensive area, the country experienced a 21% drop in production in the past year due to adverse weather conditions like frost and hot winds. Despite the production decline, Iran's exports of canned olives saw a 51% increase in the first nine months of the previous year. The country's olive oil production also decreased by 23%, with the annual consumption being met by domestic production and imports.
