Chilean fruit exports data for the first seven months of 2021 reveals a mixed picture with a slight decrease in volume but a 4% increase in value, totaling 2.35 million tons worth USD 4,894 million FOB. The value was largely contributed by fresh fruit at 77%, followed by processed and dried fruit at 17% and 6% respectively. There was a notable decrease in grape and apple exports, while cherry, mandarin, and lemon exports surged. Chile remains a significant player in the global market as the second largest blueberry and fourth largest kiwi exporter, despite shifts in export destinations with the United States seeing a decrease in imports, and the Netherlands and Australia becoming more prominent.
