Dong Thap province in Vietnam is dominantly engaged in rearing stork ducks for egg production, accounting for nearly 90% of the province's duck population, which results in an annual egg yield of over 300 million. This venture has seen profitable growth, with duck egg prices increasing by 3,000 VND/egg, leading to a profit margin of 1,000-1,500 VND/egg for farmers. The province employs a distinctive farming method where ducks are allowed to run free in fields, supplementing their diet with natural food sources, which reduces feeding costs. Additionally, the district of Thap Muoi is working towards improving the duck industry by shifting towards commodity production and export, with a goal to expand the duck population to 8.77 million by 2025, increasing duck meat production to 9,491 thousand tons and duck egg production to 390 million eggs.
