In 2024, Ukraine experienced a significant increase in bread prices, primarily due to rising production costs influenced by higher raw material prices, increased lighting expenses, and logistics costs. The price of various bread production raw materials also surged, except for sugar which saw a slight decrease. The country's potato shortage, caused by a poor harvest, further contributed to the rise in vegetable prices, prompting increased imports from countries like Turkey, Poland, and the Netherlands. Researchers predict that the supply of most fruit and vegetable items on the Ukrainian market in 2025 will be dominated by domestic production.
