Wheat prices retreated in Chicago

According to an analysis by the International Center for Economic Analysis and Agricultural Market Studies (Ceema), referring to the week of September 26 to October 2 and published this Thursday (3), wheat prices fell in Chicago. The bushel of the cereal closed on October 2 priced at US$ 5.14, down from US$ 5.19 recorded the previous week. The average for September closed at US$ 5.13 per bushel, representing a 0.98% increase compared to August. In the same month of 2024, the average had been US$ 5.70. The quarterly stocks report, as of September 1, pointed to a 6% increase compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, winter wheat planting in the United States reached 34% of the area by September 28, against a historical average of 36%. The spring wheat harvest, on the other hand, was completed.
