According to forecasts, wheat production in Russia in the 2026-27 marketing year (July–June) will decrease slightly as farmers switch to more profitable oilseed crops, which could potentially lead to a reduction in global grain supplies and a change in export flows from the Black Sea region, despite continued high volumes of supply from the region. The sowing of winter grains in Russia for the 2026 harvest has been completed on the planned areas. Officials report that weather conditions were generally favorable, contributing to the development of agricultural crops in line with expectations and confirming early forecasts of a good harvest. S&P Global Energy CERA forecasts Russian wheat production at 84.1 million tons in the 2026-27 MY compared to 88.2 million tons in 2025-26 MY.
