The European Commission has increased its projections for the EU's soft wheat ending stocks for the 2023-24 marketing year to 19.1 million tonnes, up from 18.4 million tonnes. The estimated usable soft wheat production has also been raised to 125.9 million tonnes, a 200,000 tonne increase since December. Soft wheat imports for the same period have been adjusted to 7 million tonnes, a 500,000 tonne increase from the previous month. However, barley production is expected to drop to a 12-year low of 47.4 million tonnes, while the corn harvest forecast remains steady at 61.4 million tonnes.
