Morocco is the world's second-largest importer of dates, with 90% of imports coming from the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Tunisia, and Algeria. The country set a record for date exports in the 2022/23 season, importing 103,000 tons from October 2023 to March 2024, a volume that exceeds the average of the previous three seasons. Despite this, local date production in Morocco increased by 7% in 2023, reaching 115,000 tons.
