Why greenhouse tomato prices rose again on the Ukrainian market

Another price increase in the segment of greenhouse tomatoes is noted in Ukraine, analysts of the EastFruit project report. As the price increases, the demand for imported tomatoes in the domestic market gradually weakens, however, importers continue to raise prices in this segment. Sellers justify their actions with high prices for greenhouse tomatoes on the domestic market in Turkey, from where they traditionally make the main deliveries of these products to the market of Ukraine in the winter. This week, representatives of wholesale companies actively increased selling prices for imported tomatoes to UAH 70-90/kg, which is on average 14% more expensive than a week earlier. Another reason for the increase in the price of greenhouse tomatoes was the rather limited offer of this product on the market.
