From January to September 2021, Pakistan saw a 10fold increase in mango exports to China, totaling 37.4 tons, despite accounting for less than 0.36% of China's total mango imports. The majority of these exports were Sindhri varieties and were priced lower than mangoes from Australia and Peru. Quality and appearance are key factors hindering the sales growth of Pakistani mangoes in China, and the high cost of sea container transportation with modified atmosphere preservation systems is also a challenge. However, during the low global mango supply season from June to August, when Pakistani mangoes are ripe, they have an advantage in timing.
