Will remontant strawberries in Moldova emerge from the niche format?

Moldovan farmers who grow garden strawberries using protected soil technologies, according to EastFruit, prefer early rather than late (remontant) varieties of berries. This was the case in previous seasons; most likely, this will be the case in the 2024 season. And this is despite the fact that, as EastFruit wrote, over the past three to four years, imported strawberries in commercially significant quantities appear on the Moldovan market earlier and earlier. Accordingly, the “high sales season” of local greenhouse strawberries of early varieties is shortening, and prices for them are under increasing pressure.
