Bulgaria will advocate for local producers at the upcoming Council of the European Union for Agriculture and Fisheries meeting on July 19 in Brussels. The meeting will see Slovenia present its work program as the new EU Council Presidency, and the approval of the Commission's proposed Action Plan for Organic Production. The agenda also includes discussions on initiatives like the European Citizens' End of the Cell Age initiative, improvements in animal welfare in turkey farming, and a proposal by Austria and Germany to ban the systematic killing of male chickens in the laying hen sector.
