Persistent rainfall and strong gusts of wind recorded in recent weeks are causing serious damage to crops, livestock, and agrarian infrastructure both in the Valencian Community and the rest of Spain, with impacts extending beyond the current campaign and already reaching planning for 2025/2026. The Valencian Farmers Association (AVA-Asaja) reports damage from 'bruising' - blows to the fruits from the branches due to the wind that leave marks on the skin that depreciate their commercial value - and even the fall to the ground of citrus fruits and avocados - especially those varieties that are in a more advanced state of ripening - which in the worst cases ruin the campaign for the affected farmers.
