Consumer complexes in Egypt have started selling table eggs at a price of 48 pounds per carton, following a rise in the foreign market price to 60 pounds per carton. The complexes are also selling dry goods, red meat, fish, and other products at discounted prices. They also distribute ration decisions for goods purchased with ration cards. The Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, Dr. Ali Al-Moselhi, recently met with the General Federation of Poultry Producers and Chambers of Commerce to address the rise in egg prices and develop a solution to the crisis. Major General Ehab Abdel Rahman, head of the Nile Company for Consumer Complexes, has announced that eggs will be sold at a price of between 47 and 48 pounds per carton in consumer complexes to address the high prices in the foreign market.
