Within five years, Ukraine will be one of the leaders in the cultivation of amaranth in the world

Until recently, the amaranth culture, little known to Ukrainian farmers, is rapidly conquering the market and cultivated areas. Today, 100 different products are made from amaranth in Ukraine, many unique developments are waiting for their time in the laboratories. Oleksandr Duda, head of the Association of Amaranth and Amaranth Products Producers, said this, SEEDS reports. "The market of amaranth and its processing products grows by approximately 11% every year. For comparison, the market for corn, soybeans, and wheat grows by only 6%. I think that Ukraine will be one of the leaders in amaranth cultivation in the world within five years," Oleksandr Duda is convinced. In 2022-2023, the rate of growth of the acreage under amaranth slowed down a bit, for obvious reasons, but this year Oleksandr Duda predicts a considerable increase, although there will be only 5% of organic amaranth.
